During these unprecedented times, the learning of our scholars remains a priority for Children’s Aid College Prep Charter School.
As such, the staff have developed packets of independent assignments to launch the remote learning process for our scholars and their parents.
The packets are aligned with grade level standards and provide an opportunity for scholars to review and reinforce material taught already this school year. Scholars must begin working on these assignments no later than March 23rd, and they must complete the entire packet by April 3rd.
Starting on March 23rd, teachers will begin to communicate directly with you and your scholars to determine if any additional support is needed with the packets. During that time you can discuss with your scholars' teachers your scholar's daily remote learning schedule and how to contact them if you or your scholar needs assistance.
There have also been many questions about what platforms we will be using to engage in remote learning with your scholars. Our K-5 teachers will be using Zoom and SeeSaw while our Middle School teachers will be supporting scholars via Zoom and Google Classroom. While remote instruction will begin more intensely on March 30th for Grades K-5 and April 6th for Grades 6-8 you should expect that teachers will begin orienting scholars to Zoom, SeeSaw and Google Classroom during the weeks of March 23rd and March 30th so please begin to set up your scholar's at-home learning areas and have them work on their assignments each day between 9am-3pm as much as possible so they can reach out to their teachers if they have questions or need support while working.
While there is no substitute for actual classroom instruction, the work done by our teachers in creating these packets will provide the opportunity to substantially minimize the disruption caused by a closure while thoughtfully engaging scholars. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact teachers and the School Leadership Team.
Please continue to call the Main Office at 347-871-9002 between 8:30am-3:30PM Monday-Friday. All calls are now forwarded to the Main Office staff.
If any scholar, parent or caregiver would like to contact a teacher, please do so between the hours of 9am- 3:00 pm. Your teachers will be sharing their contact information when they reach out beginning on March 23rd.
Administrative staff and your school leaders can be reached between the hours of 8:30AM-3:30PM.
