K–8 Experience That Prepares Scholars for Learning and Life

Our Culture

At Children’s Aid College Prep Charter School, our school culture is intentional, joyful, and focused on supporting the healthy growth and development of every scholar. From kindergarten through 8th grade, we nurture scholars academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for high school, college, and life beyond the classroom.

Elementary School: Building the Foundation in Grades K-5

CACPCS's K–8 experience begins in Grades K–5 with a focus on curiosity, confidence, and care. Young scholars are introduced to strong academic habits, a love of learning, and clear expectations for behavior and responsibility. Classrooms are warm, structured, and engaging, allowing students to take risks, ask questions, and build meaningful relationships with peers and adults.

Through consistent routines, character development, and age-appropriate leadership opportunities, students grow their Compassion and Curiosity, demonstrate Courage and Perseverance, strive to Achieve, and begin to understand the importance of Service.

Middle School: A Middle School Experience that Prepares Students for the Path to College and Success in Life (Grades 6–8)

The transition to middle school is a critical time for developing adolescents. At CACPCS, the K–8 experience evolves from building foundational skills in Grades K–5 to expecting our scholars to embody our school’s core values with purpose and independence. Our middle school students are encouraged to take greater ownership of their learning, demonstrate perseverance through increasingly more rigorous academic experiences, and show courage as they think critically about their own choices and the choices of their peers.

With structured support and high expectations, students strengthen executive functioning skills, resilience, and a growing sense of achievement. Compassion and service become more visible as scholars lead by example, contribute positively to the school community, and support one another as emerging leaders.

Through mentorship, goal setting, and a strong college and career mindset, CACPCS’s middle school students learn to connect their daily choices to long-term success—preparing them to enter high school as confident, capable, and values-driven young adults.
